SECOND FOR SR75 SUZUKI IN SKEGNESS BEACH RACE

Back to news

SR75 Suzuki’s Neville Bradshaw finished on the podium in this weekend’s Skegness beach race, despite being trapped behind his starting gate as the race got underway.

Aboard a specially-prepared RM-Z450, Bradshaw’s race got off to the worst possible start when a section of the start gate wasn’t opened, leaving him at the back of the field.

Rising to the challenge, he spent the next two and a half hours fighting his way through the pack, passing over 170 riders in the process.

Strategic pit stops were executed with precision by the well-prepared and experienced outfit, and enabled Bradshaw to continue his fight though the field to take a thoroughly hard-fought and well-deserved podium finish.

SR75 Suzuki team manager, Geoff Walker, said afterwards, “To say Nev [Bradshaw]’s ride was something special is an understatement, as it really isn’t easy to put into words just how hard he had to ride to make it onto the podium in pretty brutal conditions.

“His job, however, was made easier by the fact that the Suzuki didn’t miss a beat and just got on with it, and the pit stops ran like clockwork. The team did a fantastic job, and as always thank you to Suzuki GB and our other sponsors and partners.”

Bradshaw added, "It really was awesome to finish on the podium. I spoke with Geoff after the Weston beach race and asked if we could go for the podium at Skegness. The guys prepared the perfect bike and considering the first time I rode it was in the race shows just how comfortable and capable the RM-Z450 is. I am incredibly stoked to have taken second here in these conditions. Thanks to the team and let’s look forward to more adventures."
