POWERSLIDE CATFOSS RACING JOINS FORCES WITH HAWK RACING AND BUILDBASE SUZUKI

Back to news

Powerslide Catfoss Racing - the racing arm of Suzuki dealership Powerslide Motorcycles - has confirmed its return to the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2022, and announced an extended relationship with Hawk Racing, which operates the Buildbase Suzuki team.

The Stoke-on-Trent based team debuted in the championship for its first full campaign in 2021 with Bjorn Estment, scoring points in five races with the Suzuki dealership-based squad. The partnership will see Powerslide Motorcycles work closely with Hawk Racing, who will assist with their development programme.

Team Owner Brad Clarke commented: “I really just want to thank Steve and the team at Hawk Racing for this collaboration. Last season’s work would not have been achieved if it wasn’t for linking up with them - working with the official factory team, who are proven race winners is a huge boost for us.

“After a successful debut season, where we over achieved all our original targets we decided to extend our relationship with Hawk Racing, who were massively involved with our development last year. We are looking on how we can continue to improve in our second season, and working with Hawk Racing and their extensive knowledge of the Suzuki in Bennetts BSB can only be a positive.

“We also have James Ellison as a new team manager, and as an experienced rider in the series for several years, his input will also be another step forward. We look forward to announcing the rest of our plans in the coming weeks.”

Steve Hicken, Hawk Racing team manager, commented, “Joining the BSB grid from scratch takes determination and commitment - Brad and everyone at Powerslide Racing did a great job during the 2021 season to overcome all the hurdles that racing throws at you. With a year’s experience and big upgrades to the Superbike specification, I’m sure they can enjoy a successful 2022 season."
